Australian Poetry Slam 2011!

The Australian Poetry Slam returns bigger and bolder for 2011!

The search is on for Queensland’s best spoken word poet. Speak, scream, howl, whisper or sing your original poem at the Queensland Poetry Slam Moreton Bay heat – an electric live event where the audience is the judge!

If you think you’ve got what it takes, sharpen your words at the free Slam workshop, then let them take flight at the heat.

Heat winners battle it out at State Finals at the State Library of Queensland on 7 October. Then Queensland’s crowned champions get to slug it out for the coveted title of Australian Slam Poet 2011 at the National Finals in Sydney.

The Moreton Bay Slam heat and workshops will take place at North Lakes Library on Tuesday 20 September.

For more information, slam rules, prizes and to see video of a slam heat, check out the offical slam website.
